Goals

No one knows what the future holds, but flexibility and autonomy are two of the essential components needed to succeed.  The following goals, moreover, are the things I have identified as most important to me in my professional career.

Short Term

Immediately after graduating, I plan to work on a psychiatric nursing unit to continue honing my skills and clinical judgement to become a more knowlegeable nurse.  Within 1 year, I want to have my BSN degree completed. Within 2 to 5 years, I would like to enter a graduate program to obtain a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree.

Long Term

Professionally, my long term goals include continuing to work and transitioning from a novice to a role model for new nurses.  I would one day like to become a published writer, as well.  I want to remain open to new, evidence based practice, and avoid becoming stuck in tradition and a "that's just how we've always done it" mindset.
