"Serenity" ~ The Human Microchip

This was a discussion I wrote for my English 112 class. It was one of those fun, "make you think," type of discussions.

Are you pregnant and worried about your child growing up in this unforgiving and sometimes cruel world? Are you worried about how you are going to keep your child safe? Are you worried about the astounding amount of drug use among children? Are you worried about the failing economy? My new painless procedure solves all of these issues. The procedure is as easy as your son having a circumcision, and it is an extremely cost effective method to ensure your child’s welfare throughout his or her life. “Serenity,” the human microchip is similar to the one that is available for your pet; however, it is much more sophisticated. Once the microchip is placed in your child, there are many different programming options and weekly reports available to you and it gets smarter as the child grows older. Therefore, your child will never outgrow or outsmart the microchip.

As with the pet microchip, the human microchip is able to locate your child at any given moment. As your child grows older, you have the option to select a curfew time on the microchip. An alarm sounds when your child is not home by this selected curfew time. This revolutionary new microchip technology allows your child the experience of feeling the same frustrations, worry, and pain that he or she may cause you or someone else. The microchip makes a cigarette taste disgusting to your child; furthermore, it induces severe vomiting at the first taste of alcohol. If your child even has a thought of using an illegal substance, an alarm will be heard for up to 5 miles. The purpose of the alarm is to alert everyone in the vicinity of what your child is thinking about doing; therefore, he or she will not want to do this because they will not want to experience the embarrassment it will cause him or her. Not only does this new technology benefit your child and your family, it gives you a way to help protect our world, as well. Because this human microchip device is capable of making your child feel and experience other people’s feelings, he or she will always treat others the way that he or she wants to be treated, which will prevent poor choices in life.

Because the human microchip is capable of finding your child at any given moment, he or she will never be out of your reach. The human microchip deters your child from trying alcohol, smoking cigarettes, and doing drugs; therefore, it will keep your child safer. If everyone chooses to utilize this technology, this same feature will cut down on the crime rate. By cutting the crime rate down, this device will keep the jail and prison populations at a minimum and reduce the need for more police officers. If we can reduce the need for more and more police officers and reduce the jail and prison populations, it will save everyone a great amount of money. Then, the global economy will be in much better condition. The money that is saved can be used to replenish our national deficit, which will allow us to keep more of our own money. As you can see, many things will improve in our world, when you choose to utilize the human microchip for your child. What are you waiting for?
